dc.description.abstractIn this study, the authors propose a method to estimate information on impedance mismatches in coaxial cable networks. This information can help maintenance crews to locate and repair these mismatches. The information is estimated under the framework of DOCSIS preventive maintenance, and is based solely on equaliser coefficients already known by the system. Thus, it does not require any change to the system or the standard. The authors will show that, in contrast to the current DOCSIS approach, the proposed method provides a finer estimate, and allows for the estimation of information even when more than one micro-reflection is presentpt_BR
