dc.description.abstract	Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma análise sobre a categoria “classes sociais” e a noção de sujeito em E. P. Thompson, diante do debate crítico entre o historiador, o marxismo estruturalista e o economicista. A partir de acontecimentos como o XX Congresso do Partido Comunista da URSS, em 1956, maio de 68, na França, e o aparecimento dos “novos” movimentos sociais, será apresentado o modo como Thompson introduz categorias como “experiência” e “formação de classe”, dando ênfase à noção de sujeito que faz sua própria história	pt_BR

Thompson, in the face of the critical debate between the historian, the structuralist Marxism and the economicistic Marxism. By exploring events such as the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the URSS in 1956, May 68 in France, and the emergence of the “new” social movements, the article clarifies how Thompson emphasises the ideia of the subject that makes his own story and, in that, introduces categories such as “experience” and “class formation”	pt_BR
