Title: A validation method for adhoc network simulation including MANETs, VANETs and emergency scenarios

Abstract: This work presents a methodology for planning and validation of AdHoc and IoT network simulator, considering congested and uncongested nodes. The validated model is specialized to consider mobile and vehicular networks (MANET and VANET), and a disaster recovery scenario is introduced. The goal is to analyze the traffic of the destination node and estimate its capacity considering an AdHoc application. Specifically, we aim to use validation to further determine the processor utilization and message delay. The proposed model and simulation tool may be used not only to plan and dimension the network but also to guide the management of the network in critical situations that can be anticipated. In addition to the MANET validation, the results showed that a Monte Carlo routing optimization (VANET case) and availability/reliability (disaster recovery case) may be relevant to the effective resource usage of the network.
