Abstract: The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2016 was granted to Jean-Pierre Sauvage, Sir James F. Stoddart and Bernard (Ben) L. Feringa. These scientists were responsible for the creation and development of molecular machines. The development of such systems represents a breakthrough in the field of supramolecular chemistry, nanotechnology and organic synthesis. This article aims to bring simple and objective information to the scientific community about the work of these three researchers.
