Title: Observation Of A Dip In The Spectrum Of Noise After Propagation In An Optical Fiber

Abstract: The observation in a dip in the optical noise spectrum induced by lasers are reported. A tunable laser diode amplified by an erbium amplifier to 17.5 dBm and a 25 km long dispersion shifted fiber (DSF) are used for the measurements. Results revealed that a dip in the noise spectrum was observed, explained as a four wave mixing process involving annihilation of the two input photons from noise.
