|Abstract:||The bisphosphonates are a family of drugs commonly used for treatment of bone changes caused mainly by malignant neoplasias and osteoporosis. In 2003 was described the first bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of the jaws, whose causes are still unknown. This pathologic condition has a bad prognosis and an increasing incidence. The aim of this work is to advice, is about the etiologic factors and treatment options for this alteration.|
