|Title:||Toxicology Scientific Journals: A General View And Availability [periódicos Sobre Toxicologia: Uma Visão Geral E De Disponibilidade]|
|Abstract:||Publications in scientific journals are considered reliable standard-quality sources of up-to-date information in Toxicology. The present article aimed at indicating the scientific journals that provide information in Toxicology and data that can help researchers in their investigations and in their decision making of which journals should be purchased and which would be the most suitable journal for their publication. All of them were analyzed according to index information, scope, impact factor, area and division of Toxicology, availability (fee and non-fee resources) and purchasing facilities in Brazil. A total of 122 scientific journals were selected, of which 86.9% were indexed in the Index Medicus database, followed by Chemical Abstract and Excerpta Medical. Regarding availability, only 21 journals were not found in Brazil, four of them are available on the Internet as a non-fee resource. Experimental Toxicology is the division that comprises the largest number of journals, followed by Analytical and Clinical Toxicology. Another important contribution is the overview provided to toxicologists by giving them a variety of journal options to publish specific subject. © 2006 Sociedade Brasileira de Toxicologia.|
