Title: Theoretical Support For The Smaller Band Gap Bowing In Wurtzite Ingan Alloys

Abstract: We present an ab initio study on electronic properties of wurtzite InGaN. We found a gap bowing parameter of 1.44 eV, giving support to the recent smaller band gap bowing findings. We emphasize that other theoretical results may suffer from incomplete sets of atomic configurations to properly describe the alloy properties. Moreover one must take into account a broad composition range in order to obtain reliable results. © 2007 American Institute of Physics.
