Abstract: Nineteen riparian forest restoration were analysed in the sand mining sites of Corumbatai River basin, São Paulo State. The results, in general, showed that nor the planted forest neither the technical proposal in the projects attend to the minimum criteria established by the Environmental Secretariat of São Paulo state to be applied in riparian forest restoration. The biodiversity restoration has not been properly attended by these planted forest, since most of the revegetation projects and planted presented low species diversity and a tendency to floristic homogeneity, in comparison to that observed in natural areas.
