|Abstract:||The generalized plane stress problem is coupled with the classic bending model using the effect of the finite displacements to analyze plates under combined loads. The direct boundary integral equations are derived from the equilibrium equations. Continuous or discontinuous linear boundary elements can be employed according to the boundary value problem and constant domain elements are introduced to consider the effect of the finite displacements. Compressed plates problems are studied with the shortening introduced by a uniform displacement applied on both edges to approach the numerical model to that used in the laboratorial experimentation. Obtained results are compared to those available from the literature.|
