Title: Evaluation Of Mathematical Models And Simulation For Pervaporation Process

Abstract: Simulations results for the pervaporation process for separating ethanol-water mixture were obtained based on the solution-diffusion model, with water selective polyetherimide membrane. Model variables, which were used in the mathematical model, were estimated considering experimental data found in the literature. The studied model, which takes into account the variation of the diffisuvity with the composition, presents a better agreement for low mole fraction, when compared with the experimental data and with the model that considers the diffusivity as constant, what confirms the importance of the variation of the diffusivity considered in this model, especially for diluted solutions.
