Abstract: The non-linear giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) analysis was used to study the intrinsic magnetic anisotropies in a negative magnetostrictive amorphous Co 80.89Fe4.38Si8.69B1.52Nb4.52 fiber. The application of a torsion to the sample, along with the axial dc magnetic field, gave rise to a smooth decrease in the first magnetic contributions of the as-cast and annealed states of the amorphous fiber. Results also indicated a decrease in torsional strain sensitivity after thermal treatment in both the first and second harmonic contributions.
