Abstract: Physical properties of single crystals of the colossal-magnetoresistance (CMR) material La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 were studied. Laser heated pedestal growth method was used to grow the crystals. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used. Results showed that the effective distribution coefficient for calcium is 0.56. Electrical resistivity and magnetization were found to be a function of temperature.
