Author: Amaral E.

Abstract: The authors introduce some basic concepts on the use of immunobiological products (vaccine and immunoglobulins) during gestation. The main doubtful situations experienced by the obstetricians are discussed. These situations emerge at the moment the pregnant woman is exposed to a person presenting a potentially preventable infection or one that can be attenuated by immunobiological products. This study presents the approaches considered appropriate when the women are exposed to rubella, measles, mumps, varicella, hepatitis B, tetanus, or others. More than an extensive review on this subject, this study intends to be a quick consulting guide to all who work in obstetric services.
