Abstract: The objective of this work was the development of the methodology for identification of spout bed regimes by analyzing the pressure drop fluctuation. The experimental work was carried out with 7 different particles with diameters varying from 1.88 to 7.6 mm, density in range of 1,040 to 1,498 kg/m3, and sphericity of 0.58 to 0.98, for 4 different fluid dynamic regimes: packed bed, stable spouting, `Sluggin' and unstable. The Fourier transform technique applied to the pressure drop fluctuations allowed the indetification of the bed regimes for spouted and `Sluggin' contacts as well as the bed instability.
