|Abstract:||In this work an analysis will be presented on the fluid dynamics of the two dimensional spouted beds with an estimate of the influence of the main independent variables on the maximum pressure drop and minimum spouting velocity, done through an experimental design involving three beds geometrically similar, with columns measuring 0.15, 0.30 and 0.80 m of width. The conditions of scale-up of the bidimensional geometry were evaluated by the analysis of fluid dynamic similarity, where the independent scaling parameters were adimensionalized, tested and validated with the proposal of equations capable to predict the values of the dependent properties to be followed in the prototype of a real bed. At last mathematical correlations were proposed for the maximum pressure drop, minimum spouting velocity and maximum spoutable bed height, valid for a wide range of size of the two-dimensional spouted beds.|
