|Title:||Practical Application Of A Selection Criteria For Constructing The Superset Of Residual Flexibility Modes Used In Modal Synthesis Method|
|Abstract:||The work presents the practical application of a criteria for selection of the normal modes of substructures with the purpose of building the superset of a residual flexibility model. The superset is used in the modal synthesis method for the experimental analysis of large structures. Qualitative indication of modes to be selected in a substructure plays an important role in the precision of the synthesis process. Actual mode selection techniques are based on arbitrary user decisions which could lead to the modification of vectors which would have an important contribution to the synthesis of the complete structure. The technique relies on a relative weighting of the modes of the substructures, based on Euclidian norm calculations. The application shown is the assembling of a mock up of an airoplane wing+fuel tank from an experimentally updated model of each individual substructure.|
