Title: Determination Of Log P(app) For Drug Transfer To Microbial Cellular Systems Via The Taylor-aris Modified Diffusion Technique

Abstract: Partitioning is a key process in QSAR studies. Experimental and calculated log P can be obtained. In the search for new methods of obtaining partition coefficients we have modified the Taylor-Aris diffusion technique to allow the direct measurement of log P within the cell system itself. This technique is applied successfully to two different cell systems and an extrathermodynamic equation between log P for Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae seems to be a promising way of obtaining this parameter directly from them.
