|Abstract:||Multitubular fixed bed catalytic reactors (MTR) are important equipment's in the chemical and correlated industries. In spite of this, it is usually designed and operated using information from very simplified representation of the system. In this work, it is shown the importance to consider adequately the phenomena taking place in the MTR, so that some particular features can be explored. Also, it is possible to propose alternative configurations so that high performance and safe operations can be achieved. In this work, two alternative configurations, to know, Multi-Feed of Coolant and Reactant Feed Stratification are presented and they have shown great potential to the design of high performance MTR. © 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
