|Title:||Dynamics Of A Rodent Assemblage In A Cerrado Of Southeast Brazil|
|Abstract:||Seasonal variation of densities of cerrado rodents have been studied mostly near the center of cerrado phytogeographic province. Herein, I describe the dynamics of a rodent assemblage at the southern border of the cerrado province, in Itirapina, SP. Density was estimated by mark-recapture from September 1985 through September 1986, on a 1.32ha grid composed mostly of campo cerrado. Four rodents were captured, Clyomys bishopi, Oryzomys subflavus, Oligoryzomys eliurus, and Bolomys lasiurus. The most abundant species was C. bishopi, but the densities of all species varied with season. C. bishopi and O. subflavus attained higher densities in the wet-dry season transition;B. lasiurus and Ol. eliurus at the end of the dry season. Even though C. bishopi is uncommon near the center of the cerrado province, rodents in campo cerrado and cerrado sensu stricto show the same pattern of density variation in Itirapina and other localities of cerrado.|
