Title: Analysis Of Thermodynamic Performance Parameters And Cost Allocation Methods In Cogeneration Systems

Abstract: The aim of this paper is the development of a comparative analysis between some performance parameters and some cost allocation methods, both well described in the literature. These parameters and criteria are based on the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics - in the case of performance parameters - and on economic concepts as well as on energetic and exergetic concepts - in the case of cost allocation methods. The study is applied to steam turbine cogeneration systems, assuming a typical worldwide sugar-cane mill. In these systems, the products are electric power, mechanic power and steam to the industrial process.
