Title: Gas Phase Infrared Fourier Transform Spectra Of H12cooh And H13cooh

Abstract: Formic acid and its isotopic species are important molecules for which several theoretical and experimental spectroscopic studies were performed. The rotational spectra of the fundamental vibrational modes of these molecules were reported, as well as the infrared spectra of the main monomer and its deuterium derivatives. On the other hand there are almost no available infrared data for the 13C species. In this work we present the gas phase Fourier transform (FT) spectra of H12COOH and H13COOH in the 450 cm-1 to 5000 cm-1 region, The spectra were obtained using a Bomem DA-8 spectrometer at 3.0 cm-1, 0.1 cm-1, and 0.03 cm-1 resolution. All the vibrational modes are identified and the vibrational frequencies are used to apply the product rule.
