|Title:||Causes Of Death In Systemic Lupus Erythematosus [causas De Obito Em Lupus Eritematoso Sistemico]|
|Abstract:||The aim of this study wets to analyse the causes of death in SLE. The author's studied 55 deceased patients with SLE, with anatomopathological post-mortem data in 17 cases. The majority was female (89.0%), and caucasoid (74.5%). The main coarse of death was infection (48.0%) arid cardiovascular disease (13.0%). The anatomopathological procedure of 17 cases showed a high frequency of lupus nephropathy (88.2% - 15 patients) and pulmonary infection (76.5% - 13 patients). Thus, infection was tile main cause of death and seemed to be related to nephritis activity.|
