Abstract: Climate change is prominent in our society. Understanding these scenarios and how these themes are present in the newspapers were the starting point for this study. The dissertation entitled "Water Crisis in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas: Study of Matters Published in the Correio Popular Newspaper (2014-2015)", investigated the approaches of 688 newspaper editions of Correio Popular, being 341 units of 2014 and 347 units of 2015. As well as the reports of the main bodies and entities of water management of the country. It is a Case Study, of a qualitative and quantitative, descriptive and exploratory nature that used the Content Analysis methodology. The study concluded that the press blamed climate change for the water crisis because of the lack of rainfall and the population for the excessive use of water, preserving the political management of their responsibilities. It also became clear that the press did not use the most qualified sources of information, such as scientists and public managers, and on the other hand, public authorities were not transparent about the seriousness of the situation, failing to comply with the Access to Information Act. For a broad understanding on the aspects and the facts that culminated in the water crisis, the dissertation presents and reflects on the sociological and political relations involved in the theme
